IDF: Hezbollah Planned Mass Invasion After Oct. 7, Over 1,000 Sites Secretly Raided

IDF Reveals Covert Raids in Lebanon Prior to Ground Operations

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) disclosed on Tuesday that prior to officially launching ground operations in southern Lebanon earlier in the day, its troops had already conducted numerous secret cross-border raids during the ongoing conflict. These raids resulted in the destruction of multiple Hezbollah positions, tunnels, and key sites.

Additionally, the IDF revealed that just days after Hamas's deadly assault on southern Israel on October 7, thousands of terrorists had amassed near the Lebanon border with plans to storm the Galilee and carry out similar acts of carnage.

Details on Foiled Invasion and Covert Missions

The IDF shared this information with reporters ahead of a briefing by IDF Spokesperson Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari. During the briefing, Hagari presented images and maps of the thwarted invasion plan, explaining how covert commando missions in southern Lebanon contributed to dismantling the immediate threat and pushing Hezbollah forces away from the border.

According to the army, since the discovery of the planned invasion, special forces have conducted over 70 targeted raids. These missions destroyed numerous Hezbollah positions, tunnels, and thousands of weapons that could have been used in the terror group’s intended attack.
